Welcome to CVA Student Services.  My name is Mary Smith and I am the school counselor for Cabarrus Virtual Academy.  I am happy to answer any questions you have and hope you get to know your child's counselor, as we are here to help. Our student services department (school counselor and school social worker) will work with students individually and in large groups to help with personal and social development, advisement, course selection, college admissions, etc.  Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you may have. 

A little about me: I have two boys ages 12 and 6 and a little girl that will be 4 in January.  I have been married for 16 years and have been in education as a teacher and counselor for 11 years.  I recieved my undergraduate degree in sociology and criminal justice from UNC-Charlotte.  I also recieved my Graduate Certificate in Teaching from UNCC and my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University.  Please feel free to email or call me with any questions or concerns you may have and I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
