I am so excited to be joining the CVA family!

I am a proud graduate of Concord High School. After high school, I attended Elon College and NC State University before starting my teaching career at Concord Middle School, where I taught math and science to middle school students. After five years of teaching, I took a break to focus on raising my four children. During this time, I taught as an adjunct at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, and later returned part-time to Concord High School as the Testing Coordinator. When CCS was exploring the addition of the IB program, I transitioned into the role of IB Coordinator, where I researched and received training on IB programs, ultimately helping to establish the program at CHS. In the spring of 2017, I moved into the AP position at CHS.

While I am proud of my career, my greatest pride comes from my family. I’ve been happily married to Aaron for 31 years. My two sons are both grown and independent—Will works in sales in Charlotte, and Jordan is a CPA in Tampa. My two daughters are still in college: Grace is studying nursing at UNC, and Olivia is in Physical Therapy school at ECU.
