The Hive - Parent and Student Newsletter - April 27, 2025
Dear CVA Families,

Friday CVA seniors were invited to walk the halls of Winkler Middle School.  The middle schoolers were in awe of the graduates, and they should be.  CVA graduates are prepared for adulthood and have plans to join the military, job force, or to continue their education.  

The month of May is very busy at CVA.  Please note the testing dates to the right and seniors, visit the CCS graduation webpage for graduation details.  

We hope all of you can join us Friday evening for the Cannon Ballers game.  The last day to buy tickets is Tuesday.  I hope to see you there.

PTSO has shared links for Staff Appreciation.  Thank you for supporting CVA staff!


The last in-person Thursday tutoring session for high school students will be Thursday, May 1st.  Testing will be held the following Thursdays.  You can still meet virtually with all teachers during office hours or by appointment.

2025-26 School Year Information from Nurse Anderson

The North Carolina state law requires updated immunizations for 7th and 12th graders.
The Tdap vaccine and the 1st dose of the meningitis (meningococcal) vaccine are required for all students entering 7th grade or by 12 years of age, whichever comes 1st.
The meningitis booster vaccine is required for all students entering 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes 1st.
Please ensure that your child is up-to-date before the beginning of next school year. These vaccines, they can be obtained from your primary care provider or at Cabarrus Health Alliance.

The PTSO is also sponsoring a night out at Cannonballers on May 2nd.   This is a great opportunity to spend time with classmates and support CVA.  The deadline to buy tickets is April 30th.  You may purchase tickets here.
