I hope you're all enjoying a fantastic summer! Things are in full swing here at CVA as we gear up for the new school year. Be sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming open house and orientation—it's a great way to help your student start the year strong.  Details can be found below.

We're also still accepting applications! If you know any homeschooled students interested in taking up to two classes per semester, or students looking for a more flexible learning environment, we'd love for them to consider CVA.

August 6, 2025- Open House
Please join us next Wednesday for CVA Open House.  Students may meet full-time staff, pick up schedules, complete health forms, pay fees, and high schoolers may pick up Chromebooks.  

August 11, 2025- Classes begin and Middle School Orientation
Classes begin for all CVA, Edgenuity, and NCVPS core classes.  NCVPS World Language classes begin on August 25, 2025.

Middle School orientation begins at 8:30 am.  Students will receive Chromebooks and learn to navigate classes during this session.  
A parent meeting will begin at 11:30 and the session will conclude at 12:00 pm.

August 12, 2025- High School Orientation
High School orientationbegins at 8:30 am.  It is imperative all rising 9th graders and new students attend.  It will be beneficial for all students.  Students will learn to navigate the varying online platforms.
A parent meeting will begin at 11:30 and the session will conclude at 12:00 pm.

August 14, 2025 (and following Thursdays)
Middle School Schedule
  • Drop-off Time: 8:20 AM
  • Tutoring begins at 8:30 AM
  • Pick-up Time: 12:00 PM
  • Students will participate in small group sessions to ask questions, complete assignments, and receive one-on-one support.
  • Lunch will be provided at PLC and CVA students will walk to the PLC as a group. As PLC is a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) school, lunch will be free of charge.
High School Schedule
  • Morning Tutoring and Work Time: Begins at 8:30 AM (Subjects: History and English)
  • Lunch: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at PLC (Free lunch provided, as PLC is a CEP school)
  • Afternoon Tutoring and Work Time: Begins at 12:00 PM (Subjects: Math and Science)
2025-26 School Year Information from Nurse Anderson

The North Carolina state law requires updated immunizations for 7th and 12th graders.
The Tdap vaccine and the 1st dose of the meningitis (meningococcal) vaccine are required for all students entering 7th grade or by 12 years of age, whichever comes 1st.
The meningitis booster vaccine is required for all students entering 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes 1st.
Please ensure that your child is up-to-date before the beginning of next school year. These vaccines, they can be obtained from your primary care provider or at Cabarrus Health Alliance.
