The Hive - Parent and Student Newsletter - August 17, 2025 Mr
Dear Families,

What a great first week of school it has been at CVA!  We welcomed middle schoole

rs on Monday and high schoolers on Tuesday for orientation.  We had over 70 students attend.  It was so exciting to meet all the new students and see the faces of returning students.

Tutoring Thursday was well attended for middle schoolers and we were able to troubleshoot some technology hiccups.  Students also met Ms. Sheets and Mr. Claeys, our EC and ML teachers.  We hope to see all of you at tutoring this Thursday.

I appreciate your patience this week as we dealt with syncing issues between Infinite Campus and Canvas.  We are finding it is taking 2 or 3 days for the two programs to sync and students to have access to courses in Canvas.  If your student is having technology issues, please reach out to the school.  We want to set your student up to be successful!

Towards the end of the month teachers will begin entering grades in Infinite Campus. Please do not be alarmed that no grades have been or will be entered for the next two weeks.  If your email or phone number are incorrect in Infinite Campus, please complete this form so we can update this information for you.

This week we discussed AI use with your student.  Students should only use AI for assignments when instructed to do so.  As a school we will be teaching appropriate AI use.  Review the chart below to understand the terminology teachers will be using with students.  Also, be sure to review the student handbook for detailed student expectations.  Specifics can be found on page 14.

Thank you for your support.
