Dear Families,

On Friday the Infinite Campus student and parent portals opened.  Grades for your student's CVA courses will be reflected in the portal.  NCVPS grades are not shown in the portal.  Below you will find information on an NCVPS parent session.

Later in September there are early dismissal and teacher workdays.  On these days, NCVPS courses are still in session and students should either work ahead and complete assignments or plan to work on these days.  Middle and high school CVA classes do not require assignment submission on workdays, so if your student is on-schedule with their CVA classes, they can have the workday off of school work.

This past week at Thursday tutoring, middle schoolers problem solved ways to keep water in paper.  Congratulations to Lillyana for figuring out a great method!

The North Carolina state law requires updated immunizations for 7th and 12th graders by the 30th day of school in order for students to remain in school.

The Tdap vaccine and the 1st dose of the meningitis (meningococcal) vaccine are required for all students in 7th grade or by 12 years of age, whichever comes 1st.

The meningitis booster vaccine is required for all students in 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes 1st.

Please ensure that your child's records are up-to-date before September 9, 2025 to avoid being excluded from school. These vaccines, they can be obtained from your primary care provider or at Cabarrus Health Alliance.

Parents can use these directions to claim their parent portal accounts.  

Here is an overview of the process that parents will use to claim an account:
  1. Access the portal link at portalaccess.ncsis.gov
  2. Enter student information to connect with the correct child.  Then choose how to receive a secure text message or email to safely verify the parent's identity.
  3. Enter the code in the verification box to receive an activation code.
  4. Click the link to go to Parent Portal and use the activation code to create your own Parent Portal account.

NCVPS is hosting an orientation for new NCVPS parents and guardians. Topics will include how to best support students, how to access the NCVPS Virtual Support Center and how to use the Canvas Parent App and Observer Access to monitor student progress. Also included will be student engagement opportunities like the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center, clubs and guest speaker series. Presenters will include NCVPS Staff, teachers and students. To better serve attendees, orientation will be offered on two different dates and times. Please share the registration links below with parents and staff:
