The Hive - Parent and Student Newsletter - November 16, 2025
Dear Families,

November is Career Development Month!

At CVA, students have the chance to explore a wide range of career paths using our online platform, Major Clarity. Through this tool, you’ll complete career inventories and investigate different professions that match your interests.

As CVA high school students, you also have the flexibility to enroll in RCCC courses across numerous trades—including auto mechanics, cosmetology, electrical systems, firefighting, welding, and more. You can learn about these opportunities in the accompanying booklet.

Students who complete advanced CTE coursework may also qualify for internship experiences. We’re fortunate to have Ms. Parlier, our Career Development Coordinator (CDC), and Mr. Esposito, our CTE teacher, both of whom are eager to support you with career planning and guidance.

This month, we also celebrate the students invited to join the National Technical Honor Society: Grant, McKinly, Skye, Ashley, and Emzah. Congratulations!

Chrissy

Name That Job
As we celebrate National Career Development Month, let's explore the first job of teachers and staff that got them on the road to our school.  How well do you think you know them?  Students can take a guess at matching each staff member's very first job (position or store name).  Top scorers will win prizes - announced Monday, November 24th.  Please do not share answers with others - this is a competition, after all!  Students and staff are invited to play!  Here is the link.

Learn about Student TRACK here.
CVA can nominate one student.
  • Ideal student – someone that is motivated and eager to learn about potential opportunities following high school
  • Students are rising juniors – so current sophomores are the ones applying.
  • GPA is not important!! If you identify a student that is a leader among their peers but doesn’t have a great GPA, we are more interested in their leadership qualities!
  • Keep in mind that students will be expected to interact in a professional and respectful manner with community leaders.
  • Applications will be open soon and will be shared through the Newsletter.
