Dear Families,
Like many of you, I attended the tree lighting in downtown Concord on Friday evening. What began as a magical night quickly became frightening for many. Please know that CVA has supports in place for students, and our team is here for you. If your student needs assistance, please call the school or reach out to one of our support staff: Maghen Rubbino (counselor), Cheryl Brooks (social worker), or Savannah Anderson (nurse).
The events on Friday remind us of how precious time with family and friends truly is, especially as we head into Thanksgiving. I hope you are able to enjoy meaningful, peaceful time together.

Working during the Break Teachers will not be responding to emails or Canvas messages over break. We encourage all students that are up to date in their classes to take the time off too. If your student is behind, he/she can work to get caught up; however, if he/she hits a mastery assignment, they will have to wait for teachers to return to work to grade that assignment allowing them to move on.
Visual Art Virtual Field TripStudents in Mrs. Seaman’s Visual Arts Beginning course participated in a virtual field trip with the North Carolina Museum of Art this past Thursday. Students learned about and discussed the art of Latin American Artists. They learned how some artists create art based on stories related to events in their lives. Students who participated in person used found objects and the sun to create a type of print called a cyanotype. Mrs. Seaman would like to thank all students who participated in person or online from home.
Here are some of their prints.
