Students should sign in through the attendance document.  Students who are unable to sign in due to power or internet outages should email Mrs. Poulos at kelley.poulos@cabarrus.k12.nc.us proof of assignment completion once internet is restored.  Students have 5 school days to submit this documentation to be counted present.

I hope your family is enjoying the snow!

Career Exploration

We are excited to kick off CTE Month with engaging activities designed to help students at all grade levels begin thinking about their future careers—early and often!
Throughout the month, students will use Major Clarity, an interactive career exploration platform, to discover careers that align with their personalities, interests, and learning styles. These activities encourage students to reflect on who they are, how they learn best, and how those strengths connect to real-world careers.

What is Major Clarity?
Major Clarity is a career and academic planning tool that helps students explore career options and begin planning for high school, college, and beyond. Whether a student plans to pursue a four-year degree, attend a community college, or enter the workforce directly after high school, having clear goals and a plan helps set them up for success.
We are excited to support students as they begin imagining—and preparing for—their futures!

When will your student complete the planning tools?
Middle Schoolers- will complete the personality assessment and career exploration during homeroom on February 9th.  All middle schoolers should plan to attend this virtual session.
High Schoolers- can access the lesson through the homeroom course under assignments.  There you will find a video with directions and next steps.

We look forward to working with your students as they explore career possibilities.

Get ready for a day of STEAM Activities and fun at Charlotte Motor Speedway on April 16th, 2026! Students will relate motorsports to core principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. Force, motion, energy and engineering are some of the topics that come alive as kids navigate through hands-on stations. Critical thinking skills will be put to the test as students form a hypothesis and understand racing design concepts.

Upon completion of the STEAM activities, students are welcome to experience the 24-degree banking of Charlotte Motor Speedway by riding around the 1.5-mile NASCAR track in a tour van!

This day will cost $23 per student and $12 for parents. Parents will drop off/park at zMAX Dragway, 6570 Bruton Smith Blvd. Concord, NC (see attached map for details). Parents are welcome to attend, and we would love for at least two parent volunteers to join us!
