Cabarrus County Schools Virtual AcademyThe Hive - Parent and Student Newsletter - May 3, 2026

Dear Cabarrus Virtual Families,

On Tuesday, we are excited to host the inaugural CVA Awards Day. We look forward to celebrating our seniors and their many accomplishments. Seniors should wear their caps and gowns, as they will process into the ceremony. We will recognize honor graduates, career plans, character awards, and honor roll students. Parents are warmly invited to attend. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a pizza lunch.

High school coursework for all CVA and Edgenuity courses is due by May 8. Please check in with your student to ensure they are on track to complete their classes. Teachers will continue to grade assignments as they are submitted.  All high school courses have exams.  These exams will open on May 9, 2026.

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday!

Chrissy Rotan

A banner reads 'HAPPY Teacher & Staff APPRECIATION WEEK!' in colorful letters. Our teachers and staff are what make CVA such a strong and supportive school for your student. We encourage you to take a moment to show appreciation for your child’s teachers—whether through a thank-you note, a contribution to the PTSO, or a small gesture of gratitude. They work tirelessly every day to support and help your student succeed.

The word 'Testing' is handwritten in black ink on lined yellow paper.

EOG testing for our middle school students begins this week, starting with the Math EOG on Thursday, followed by the 8th Grade Science EOG on Friday. Ms. Denley and Ms. Hartke will review key concepts with students on Tuesday prior to Awards Day. Last week, all middle school students who attended on Thursday participated in small group sessions where they practiced annotating text in preparation for the Reading EOG and worked through challenging math problems. We strongly encourage all students to attend on Tuesday for this important review opportunity.
