Graduation Practice Monday and Graduation Wednesday
Posted Date: 05/15/26 (10:20 AM)
Good morning families of seniors. I wanted to resend the information Ms Poulos shared in April. As a reminder, you must attend graduation practice in order to participate in the ceremony.
IMPORTANT DATES:
May 18 at 4:15 - Check in for Graduation Practice/Dress Rehearsal at Cabarrus Arena (see details below for more information)
May 20 at 6:30pm - CVA Graduation Ceremony at Cabarrus Arena (Graduates arrive at 5:30pm - Doors open for guests at 6:00pm)
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- CAP & GOWN SETS- We still have a few cap & gown sets that haven't been picked up. Please stop by to get those as soon as possible. They are very wrinkled, so you don't want to wait until awards day to get them.
-
CHROMEBOOK RETURNS: If you still have a Chromebook, please return it to the school when you have finished your courses or bring it to graduation practice. (don't forget to bring the charger). If you do not return them, you will be assessed a fee that must be paid prior to the ceremony. Note: all outstanding fees must be paid in order for students to participate in the ceremony.
- OUTSTANDING FEES: If you have not paid your $30 technology fee or other outstanding fees, please plan to pay at the awards ceremony or at graduation practice. You may also pay with a card using our online system at this link. All fees must be paid prior to the graduation ceremony. Note: If you had fees from a previous school in CCS, these carry over to CVA. Our school treasurer, Christin Lindsey will email students and guardians next week to let them know about any outstanding fees. Please reach out to her at christin.lindsey@cabarrus.k12.nc.us with questions.
- GRADUATION ATTIRE- Click on this link for specifics on dress code.

GRADUATION PRACTICE - Graduation practice is a dress rehearsal, so students should wear their cap & gowns and the attire that is outlined in the attachments. Students who do not meet the district requirements for attire will be notified at graduation practice so they will have time to make adjustments before the ceremony. Students should follow the sign to get to the graduate parking at the back of the arena, as the front doors will be locked (see map below).
-
GRADUATION - Because of our small graduation class, we do not distribute tickets, and students do not have limits for the number of guests they can invite to the ceremony. Students, parents, and guests should [http://Cabarrus County Schools - Prohibited Items / Screening]be aware of these prohibited items. Students will enter through the back of the arena and parents through the front of the arena (see map below). Please visit the CCS Graduation site at this link for a parking map and more detailed information about graduation.
-
DIPLOMAS - Students who are participating in the graduation ceremony will receive their diplomas at the arena. If you are not participating in the ceremony, you may pick your diploma up at CVA from 8am-3pm on May 26th or May 27th.
-
ATTENDANCE: The state of NC requires us to take attendance until May 20th. If you do not complete the form by the deadline, you will be counted absent. Remember, if you haven't done any work that day, you will not be able to request a correction; so set your alarm to remind you of this daily task! You can access the form on your phone as long as you are signed in to your school Google account (the one with st. after the @).
Please reach out with any questions you have!
