Dear CVA Families, I hope you had a wonderful long weekend!
As we approach the end of Quarter 1 on October 9, students and teachers are working diligently to ensure assignments are completed, submitted, and graded. We appreciate everyone’s continued effort to finish the quarter strong!
Please remember that while students have the flexibility to work outside of school hours, our teachers have designated work hours and do not work on weekends. If a student submits an assignment outside of a teacher’s work hours, the assignment will be graded during the teacher’s next available work time. We appreciate your understanding and ask that families allow teachers time to review and grade assignments rather than emailing staff to request exceptions.
Our Student Services team is also available to support students each Thursday. Team members check in with students and provide additional support as needed. Please be sure to complete the Consent for Services form that was sent to you on Wednesday if you give permission for the Student Services team to work directly with your student.

 CVA will be open on Tuesdays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm to allow students to come on campus and work. A teacher will be on campus to clarify directions and answer student questions. Attending on Tuesday is a great way to have focused work time.
One of the activities offered on Thursday this past week was Crochet Club. Da'Vonique is the student leader/crocheting expert and Ms. Shuping is the advisor.

Check Your NC College Connect Matches!
Attention Seniors, log into CFNC to see which participating colleges may offer you direct admission through NC College Connect.
- Go to CFNC.org/nc-college-connect.
- Log in with your CFNC account and select Claim My Spot to open the NC College Connect portal.
- Check that your name in CFNC matches your name in your school record.
- View your personalized list of colleges.
- If you’re interested in a college, complete its short form to accept the admission offer and learn about next steps.
Your list is personalized and may not include every college you could attend. You can still apply to other colleges through their regular application process. If you need help, contact your school counselor.
